Choice $7300 New May 14! Rare with about 100 Known! The Coin without a Country. In 1859-1860, the half dime and dime changed to having United States of America moved from the obverse to the reverse. During this transition period, some 1860 half dimes were struck with the new With Stars Obverse. However, some coins were paired with the 1859 reverse which doesn't have United States of America on the back, thus the "Coin without a Country." PCGS now calls these Transitional and a Judd-267 pattern number has been assigned to these rare transitional coins. This coin has attractive and original rust purple toning over lustrous surfaces. It is well struck with the exception of stars 9 and 10 on the obverse. There is one line on the right obverse field near stars 12 and 13. While these coins are certainly rare, it is the story that makes this a fascinating conversation piece to non-collectors.

Gem $2665 Superb Gem Type 1 Obverse Presentation, Brilliant Reflective Mirrors, Tenafly Collection. Final Consignor Price Reduction! - What a pleasure to be again offering this magnificent 1860 proof strike that originated from the Washington State Collection. 1860 brought 1,000 proof strike with the newly engraved and hubbed Type 1 obverse design per Longacre-Paquet. The design proved to be unpopular due to rapid wear of the high points and a flat overall appearance. When examining this piece, one of the finer extant, the intricate device details become apparent. I promptly noted that Liberty's legs and breasts are quite elevated as compared to the low relief head details. Fields are brilliant reflective and surround frosted motifs. The Cameo eye appeal is thoroughly pleasing. If attempting to build a Liberty Seated dime proof set collection (1856-1891), this example will set the bar for premium quality and warrants a strong bid. This steely-frosted 1858 Seated quarter presents pleasing luster under a bright light with overall eye appeal being substantially better than my images. Believe me, this lot is a lot of fun under angled lighting and is a testament to the appearance of strict originality. Consignor Price Reduction - Production of silver coinage began falling in 1850, as increasing supplies of gold caused an imbalance in the valuation of silver. Choice $375 Dual Sided Toning, Brilliant Frosted Luster, Swirling Cartwheels, Perfectly Original. GFRC Cost Basis! - Since starting the GFRC business, there has always been an affinity for toner Morgans. Over time, I've been hand selecting CAC approved toners with coloration that is consistent with originality expectations. Let's face it, there are ample amounts of retoned Morgans out in the market with what I consider to be unnatural colors. This 1878-S example offers the classic obverse aquamarine, copper-gold, and blues on the obverse and delineated green and copper-gold on the reverse that could have paper origins. Accurately graded with brilliant frosted luster and swirling cartwheels. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.

Gem $12750 Pop 3 in AU58+ with Tremendous Toning. Ex. James A. Stack. We've seen a lot of 1879-CC Morgan dollars, but never with this kind of double sided intense target toning. A picture cannot begin to tell the story of this coin. This coin demands to be twirled under a light to see the magnificent toning. As part of the James A. Stack collection, this coin sat untouched for about 70 years. There is some rub on the center of the eagle on the reverse to justify the grade.

Choice $5525 Rare Grade, Choice Original, White Pine Collection.. 2025 Black Friday Sale Offering - Pinkish-orange patina fills the rims and protected areas of this low-mintage San Francisco piece, contrasting with the steely gold fields. Survival of 19th century branch Mint coinage is often a matter of chance, and CAC reports only a single Mint State piece, MS62, which the CAC guide prices at a whopping $72,000. This piece remains well-advanced within the CAC condition census, bested by only four pieces in AU58 and the single MS coin. CAC has approved 19 coins total, and the CAC price guide value in AU55 is $6,000. While finest known status confers the all-important bragging rights, we would rather own, for the same money, a dozen coins like this AU55 example, as opposed to a single piece graded only a few points finer. Choice $9750 New March 26! Low CAC Pop. Pop Top. Beautiful color.. A glance at the CAC pop report shows that Liberty half eagles from the Phildelphia mint are significantly underrated compared to their mint marked counterparts. This gorgeous 1871 is one of six AU58 stickered at CAC with none higher. The total CAC pop is only 11. Compare this to the 1871-CC half eagle that has a total CAC pop of 42, but which is priced at more than 7 times as much. This example not only has beatiful color but is minimally marked and has nice luster. A near gem which should be seen to be appreciate.

Choice $3100 Rare Uncirculated, Superb Rose-Gold Coloring, Completed Strike, Near-Gem. GFRC Cost Basis! - 1891 Philadelphia $5 gold strikes were limited to 61,360 pieces in an era of massive silver coinage output. Most survivors are found with abrasions and/or light wear. At the MS64 level, this grade becomes rare and even more so with CAC approval. PCGS has not certified a single gem specimen, therefore MS64 and MS64+ graded examples are as good as it gets. GFRC is pleased to be offering one of the MS64 certified survivors that also has CAC approval. An infrequently seen rose-gold coloring is consistent on both sides. Bright light inspection is a joy given the brilliant frosted luster that explodes off the surfaces. Strike is 100% complete and rounds out the checklist for a designating this offering a near-gem.
