Gem $1050 Bluish Copper Toning; Excellent Luster. We paid strong money at the CSNS show for this beautiful half cent because of its excellent eye appeal. The coin is on the darker side but it sparkles with its attractive bluish toning which comes alive with strong underlying luster and no distractiing marks.

S-247 Choice $3650 New July 2! Near Gem. Nice Olive Brown Originality on a Well Struck Planchet. Ex. Hawk Farm Collection. This S-247 is known as the 'Mumps" variety with a raised lump under Miss Liberty's chin. This is an attractive olive brown example that is well struck on a nice planchet that shows no staining. There is one thin scratch on the right obverse field, but this coin is not that far away from being CAC quality.

N-13 Gem $2950 New August 19! Dazzling Luster with Attractive Toning. This large cent has wonderful eye appeal. The luster is excellent and accentuates the blue and magenta toning seen throughout the coin. There is a huge die crack on the obverse that connects the stars and date together. Miss Liberty's cheek is clean. Without some spots in Miss Liberty's hair, this coin would grade even higher.

Gem $3250 New August 16! Gem Original. Ex. Evergreen and Newtown Collections. The Mint introduced the motto IN GOD WE TRUST in this year, a nod to the horrific carnage of the Civil War and the nation's dependence on the Almighty. The Small Motto variety is considerably scarcer than the Large Motto, with the CAC census reporting more than three times as many Large Motto pieces. This example is near completely brown with generous bits of original red color in the protected areas. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval.

Unusually Attractive Color and Luster on a Copper Coin. This is a perfect type coin. The beautiful bluish color on both sides sets this coin apart from the vast majority of 2c pieces. This well struck coin has excellent luster and has few marks for an MS64. Within the bluish color, there are faint traces of original red peeking through the toning, most notably on the reverse. This is a very high end MS64BN coin.

Choice $7750 New August 15! The Key Date for the 2c Series. Well Struck and Original. Ex. Evergreen Collection. The 1872 is the undisputed key date of the short lived 2c series with a tiny mintage of just 65,000 as compared to any other date. 31 examples have been endorsed by CAC with a red brown designation. The coin is well struck, original with reasonably smooth surfaces. Much original red is peeking through the reverse.
