Liberty Seated Dime Purchase Criteria:eye appeal, original surfaces and full strikes including a full head.Seated dimes that meet these combined attributes provide the best value for the money including being the easiest for resale when upgrading a collection. It is recommended that buyers consider these criteria when contemplating a purchase from any dealer.

Top 100 Varieties: Any Seated dime that conforms to requirements for inclusion in a Top 100 Varieties is denoted in the Variety column.

Rotated Reverses: Reverse images are best effort to capture the actual reverse rotation with respect to obverse position. If a rotated reverse is seen in the images, then this is how the dime appeared during photography and dime descriptions may not include specific comments as to the observation.

	1839-O No Drapery	VG10	PCGS 37211498	F-109 R6	Choice	$550	New October 1! Very Rare! Huge O Obverse, F-109 Small O Reverse, Natural Gray Toning, Choice. This is the third time that GFRC has handled this dime. As Gerry mentioned previously, "I've seen few 1839-O F-109 examples in any grade during my two decades plus of working with Seated dimes. The F-109 variety results from the pairing of "Huge O" obverse with another Small O reverse; its origins are not well understood to this day. The reverse exhibits a small O mintmark but from a different style punch fr0m previously documented dies of that year. The F-109 die pairing is the last use of the "Huge O" obverse die as most of the lower devices are effaced at this point." The coin itself is very original with attractive grey surfaces and few marks. The Seated dime variety specialist is advised to act quickly on this one.
	1840-O No Drapery	EF40	NGC 6924959008	F-106	Choice	$950	Medium O, Top 100 Varieties #16, Choice Original Surfaces. 1840 New Orleans strikes are challenging in original EF or better grades. Three mintmark sizes are available with the F-106 variety resulting from a single Medium O reverse die. An early die state reverse without the vertical die crack at noon, but exhibiting the usual weakness at (ON)E. A nice original CACd example with classic grey surfaces with darker peripheries.
	1841-O Closed Bud Reverse	AG3	NGC 4226134001	F-102	Choice	$750	New October 2! Budget Friendly Example of a Tough Variety with a Full Good Obverse. Ex. Cleveland Collection. The Closed Bud Reverse is a popular and easy to see variety even when well worn. The obverse has a full rim and very good detail for an AG3. There is a scratch to the right of the date. The rest of the obverse has decent fields. The reverse grades an AG3 with the O mintmark clearly visible, but the lettering above that is worn smooth. The closed buds are easily visible on either side of the wreath.
	1842	MS65+	PCGS 42075540		Choice	$4500	Near Gem. Sole PCGS MS65+. Strict Originaltiy. Ex. Hawk Farm Collection. This is the only PCGS MS65+ coin with just six coins graded higher. Strictly original, this coin is well struck with good surfaces. The obverse is original grey and mark free. The reverse is easily gem quality with attractive light blue and magenta color in the centers with yellow orange toning towards the rims.
	1843-O	VG10	PCGS 38811818		Original	HOLD $495	Scarcest early O-Mint dime. An affordable example of the scarcest early O-Mint dime with a mintage of 150,000. This coin has an original appearance and good detail for teh grade. Noted are two obverse scratches that go into stars 12 and 13. There is also an old scratch through Miss Liberty's head.
	1845-O	VF30	PCGS 38796205	F-101b	Choice	$925	New October 2! Cool Color, Nice Original Surfaces. Ex. Cleveland Collection. Grey blue toning on each side with hints of rust. The obverse has intresting streaks of lighter patches but the coin looks very original and the surfaces are smooth. Nice wide rims (as found on all 45-o dimes) frame the portrait in a pleasing fashion.
	1854-O Shattered Obverse	VF35	PCGS 80554990	TOP 38 F-102 R6	Choice	$1350	New August 20! Price Reduction - Massive Die Break on this Top 100 Variety. From the Indiana collection. Out of the Top 100 Seated dime varieties, this is among the most visually interesting with a giant obverse die break. Surfaces are toned in a light coppery color. There are some obverse marks in the left and right fields. The reverse is clean except for a thin scratch to the left of ONE.
