Gem $450 Unusually Attractive Color and Luster on a Copper Coin. This is a perfect type coin. The beautiful bluish color on both sides sets this coin apart from the vast majority of 2c pieces. This well struck coin has excellent luster and has few marks for an MS64. Within the bluish color, there are faint traces of original red peeking through the toning, most notably on the reverse. This is a very high end MS64BN coin.

Choice $9500 New May 13! Near Gem. PCGS Population of 5 with 10 higher graded. My (DL) former set coin. It was purchased from the DLRC Richmond Collection in 2005 in an NGC-62 holder and kept for 10 years until it was sold into a friend's collection of Seated quarters that ultimately was sold to purchase the legendary 1795 Sheldon-79 large cent. Since then, it has been crossed into a PCGS-62 holder and looks much better in this holder. The luster is superb on this well struck coin. The toning is a rust color that doesn't impact the luster. There are traces of light rub on the obverse which explains the grade as there are no marks of note. The reverse show no wear. This is one of the best dates in the Seated quarter series.

WB-2 Gem $14750 Condition Census, Superb Gem Original, Steely Reflectance, New Orleans Collection. Final Consignor Price Reduction - The New Orleans Collection makes a splash with the release of one of the finest 47-O half dollars extant, with just a single MS65+ graded finer at PCGS. While the mintage of 2,584,000 was sizable for the era, Mint State survivors are unfrequently encountered with any Mint State example being an important rarity in MS64 or finer. Our WB-2 example excels under a bright light with steely reflective fields that are the epitome of undisturbed viewing. The luster is uniform on both sides and a further testament of the unquestionable originality. Though the GFRC images indicate darkly toned surfaces, bright light inspection is a completely different experience with light pastel rose and sky blues dominating the luster. Reverse presentation is similar with golden hues within the legend lettering. The strike is complete and the fields are pristine. This coin has all the hallmarks of a gem and is in the condition census. Advanced Liberty Seated half dollars collectors should take note as the PCGS price guide is $22,500 as reference. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2025) holder.

WB-4 Gem $45000 Condition Census, Gem Original, Newtown Collection.. Consignor Price Reduction - Production of silver coinage began falling in 1850, as increasing supplies of gold caused an imbalance in the valuation of silver. Congress corrected the problem only with the Coinage Act of 1853, leaving the Mint to coin a decreasing supply of silver bullion in the intervening years. This low-mintage piece exhibits liberal copper and aqua patina, and the overall eye appeal merits the GFRC Gem designation. Ample luster imparts slight reflectivity to the surfaces. Stars are sharp, while the left claws remain separated, if faintly so. WB-4, with a tine to the upper left of 1. CAC has approved 28 coins total, with a single coin in MS65 (the present coin) and only one piece finer, at MS67. The CAC price guide value is $36,000 (CAC does not price plus grades), while the PCGS value at the MS65+ level is $60,000. Ex. GFRC, August 2023, at $53,000. Housed in a PCGS Gen 6.0 (2015-2020) holder with CAC approval. PCGS #6264.

WB-3 Choice $37000 Near-Gem Original, Newtown Collection.. Along with the 1870-CC and 1878-CC, the 1874-CC is one of the keys to Carson City half dollar set. Few pieces survived from the small mintage of 59,000 pieces and today examples in all grades are highly prized. This piece exhibits even, medium gray toning, with hints of gold, russet, and blue more evident as the coin is tilted under a light. Moderate cartwheel radiates from both sides, a touch more actively on the reverse. WB-3, with a die lump below the curl and a diagonal die line through (STAT)ES. The mintmark is small with close spacing and slopes upward. Well struck with star centers evident and typical softness in the left claws. CAC has approved 47 coins total, a single piece in MS63 (the present coin), two examples at MS64, and a single coin at MS65. PCGS reports three higher pieces in MS64, one coin in MS65 and one example in MS66. The CAC price guide value is $37,400 while PCGS is a tick higher at $37,500. The significance of this offering is hard to overstate, as Carson City pieces are among the most desirable issues in the Seated series. This piece combines the all-important CC mintmark with key date status and a strong technical grade. As if that were not enough, CAC endorses this example as premium for the grade. The new owner of this special coin will be exceptionally pleased. Ex. GFRC (August 2021), at $35,000, previously from the Milford Collection (Heritage 1/2011, lot 5565), realized $26,450. Housed in a PCGS Gen 4.5 (2012-2013) holder with CAC approval. PCGS #6347.

Gem $2850 First Year Denver Design Issue, Pretty Golden-Rose Shades, Gem Original. GFRC Cost Basis! - The 1916 Philadelphia and Denver struck Walking Liberty halves have comparable rarity in the higher Mint State grades. I could not resist adding this notable gem Denver example to inventory. A well frosted example with radiant luster and the expected cartwheels given a moderate golden patina that turns to rose closer to the peripheries. If luster and superb eye appeal are your cup of tea, this new offering might warrant a closer look. Housed in PCGS Gen 6.1 (2020-2023) holder with CAC approval.

Choice $5950 New May 13! Near Gem. This near gem is one of the key dates to the series. It's color is a very attractive battleship grey with light pink and peach iridescence with a lot of underlying luster. The surfaces are very smooth with only a few small marks in the obverse field keeping it from a gem grade. The reverse is pristine. Both sides are very well struck with excellent detail, even at the centers, notwithstanding the XF grade. You can even see Libery's thumb on her left hand.

B-5 Gem $7250 Nice Originality with an Obverse Cameo Look. An 18h century artifact with nice originality and relatively smooth fields. The wear on the obverse is even and provides contrast between the worn areas and the rest of the coin provide a cameo look. Interesting die breaks throughout the reverse. OC-1 Choice $6495 Original with Smooth Surfaces. OC-1. The 1859-S Seated dollar is scarce in Choice AU condition and especially so with original surfaces like this one. Even steel blue and rust toning on both sides cover some small nicks in the right obverse field and above the eagle. Nicely struck and with good overall eye appeal. Osburn-Cushing 1, Die State b with cracks across the reverse periphery. There are some holder scratches on the obverse on Miss Liberty's face as well as near stars 5 and 6.

Gem $8500 Strong Cameo. An undipped proof with strong cameo on both sides, especially on the reverse which in our opinion boarders on deep cameo. Light toning covers both sides but does not hide the strong mirrors. The hairline free surfaces are surprisingly undisturbed for a 64. We would rather sell this one to a collector rather than a crack out dealer so if you want it please order before Central States. When we saw this coin at the recent March Baltimore show, we knew we had to buy it since we couldnt put it down.

Gem $12750 Pop 3 in AU58+ with Tremendous Toning. Ex. James A. Stack. We've seen a lot of 1879-CC Morgan dollars, but never with this kind of double sided intense target toning. A picture cannot begin to tell the story of this coin. This coin demands to be twirled under a light to see the magnificent toning. As part of the James A. Stack collection, this coin sat untouched for about 70 years. There is some rub on the center of the eagle on the reverse to justify the grade.

Choice $3250 New June 9! Superb Originality; Popular O-mint Type Coin. As the only O mint Type II gold dollar, the 1855-o gold dollar is very popular, especially when found with stone cold original, problem free surfaces.
