Welcome to a GFRC Online Auctions Connoisseur's Series auction sales featuring Mike's Seated Quarters (Part 1) and a small group of AU Early Walking Liberty Halves. We've known both consignors for some years as collectors. Mike has spent significant time and resources working on his complete Liberty Seated Quarters set that is listed in the PCGS Registry as the fourth all-time highest graded set. That is saying a lot! This is the first part of his Seated Quarters set with rare and scarce dates abound that are not normally seen in these grades with this kind of eye appeal. We're honored that Mike chose GFRC to sell his impressive set. The group of AU Early Walking Liberty Halves is from a new consignor to GFRC. There are a few of the San Francisco issues as well as the key 1921 and 1921-D half dollars included with this offering.

GFRC Online Auctions will continue to offer three payment lay-a-ways for auction winnings over $3000 moving forward. To take advantage of this payment option, bidders must registered with Gerry prior to the auction open and confirm their lay-a-way requirement. Those that don't confirm prior to the auction will not be afforded this privilege. Please contact me at teamgfrc@gmail.com or Matt (917) 727-1893 or Darrell (929) 322-4953.

The GFRC Online Auctions application was designed with simplicity for bidders given the No Buyer's Fee policy. Bidders do not need to contemplate the Buyer's Fee percentage when placing bids. Every bidder is free to bid what they wish to pay for a lot. This fact become measurably important during the final hour of the auction sale whereby bidders can stay focused on determining their auction ending bidding strategy without factoring in a Buyer's Fee.

The GFRC Online Auctions platform has become yet another divestment option for collectors along with the regular price list consignments. We've seen the GFRC community become incrementally comfortable with taking holdings onto an auction platform for upside bidding potential and increased prices realized. Again, with a simplistic No Buyer's Fee structure, collectors can easily calculate their proceeds using the final bid and GFRC regular commission rates. All lots that do not meet reserves are posted on the 30 Day Price List after auction end along with the well known Collectors Corner numismatic marketplace. Our goal is to promptly sell you coins across multiple marketing channels.

Good luck with bidding.

Thank you, Matt and Darrell

Ex. Star City. CAC has endorsed 1 at this grade and 6 at AU58. This is a popular first year issue with the Open Claws (Briggs-1A) reverse. PCGS-AU58+ CAC! PCGS Population of just 2 in 58+. CAC has endorsed 8 at the 58 grade with only 3 higher. This is the ultimate PCGS Everyman Set Registry Coin! If you told me (DL) this coin was an MS62, I wouldn't blink as there is no obvious wear on Miss Liberty's leg or knee. What might look like slight wear might just be strike related since the head isn't fully detailed nor is the eagle's left facing leg. Luster is excellent. The coin is very clean with the only blemishes beng two or three light handling lines on the right obverse field. Winning Bid: $3805

Color Alert! This is certainly in the top 3 toned 1850 quarters I have seen at any grade. The rims are concentrically toned a luscious orange, yellow, green and blue with centers that are indigo and violet. It is just missing some red to complete the rainbow. The toning is more intense on the reverse. The coin is well struck. There are some inconspicous marks on the left obverse field and to the left of the eagle's beak, but the overall look is a joy to behold. Winning Bid: $2300

Enough Superlatives Cannot be Hurled at this Coin. CAC has endorsed 23 in all grades with 2 at this grade and 4 coins higher. A very tough CAC coin in XF or higher. There are two XF45 CAC coins. We are familiar with the other XF45 CAC which is nice, but it doesn't hold a candle against this coin. The toning is spectacular with the reverse being out of this world! There are a few light marks on each side, but nothing distracting. This coin will definitely sell as the reserve is low and the interest is high. We predict a strong bid will be required to capture this prize. Good luck to the bidders. Winning Bid: $6250

Only Opportunity for an XF or Higher CAC Endorsement! CAC has endorsed 23 in all grades with this being the only XF40 and 2 coins higher (XF45, MS62). If you are looking for a CAC XF or higher coin, this is your only chance as the XF45 CAC and MS62 CAC coins are locked away and will not be available for a long time. The coin is an attractive pastel color and is strictly original. The grade is spot on. 1852-O quarters are among the weakest struck Seated quarters. As usual, the eagle's left facing wing and arrow nock are somewhat flat. This coin is smooth for an 1852-O quarter with just an obverse mark under star 5 and a thin mark above the eagle's neck on the reverse. Ths is another coin that has seen strong interest and we would not be surprised to see a record price. Winning Bid: $6250

Even one of the Fair-2 CAC coins sold for $26,400 in 2022. The 1871-CC and 1872-S quarters have the fewest examples endorsed by CAC for Seated quarters with only 12. The 1871-CC also has the extra dimension of being in high demand by Carson City collectors. For a Good-4, it has excellent detail with BER fully visibile and parts of the I and T also visible. The rims are full and the eagle's shield is well defined. This one is typical of conservative CACG grading since in the past, this coin would have graded VG and even in today's strict grading environment, one could argue it should grade Good-6. From an absolute rarity, my (DL) opinion is that the 1872-CC is fourth. This coin displays nice originality and is far more original than most in straight graded holders. This is a legendary pedigree in US numismatics as Louis Eliasberg is the only person to ever have a complete date and mintmark set of US coins. Obvious originality and well struck. The toning is orange and brown. This coin would probably grade at least MS64 if it wasn't for a patch of handling lines in the obverse area between stars 8 and 9 where the Phrygian cap is. Color Alert! This coin is a work of art and is difficult to put down. It is well struck with excellent luster. But it is the dazzling color that makes it memorable. The obverse has blue rims surrounding golden toning around the stars that lightens closer to the center. The reverse toning is immaculate with luscious yellow green toning around vibrant blue toning and a magenta center. Has the overall look of a higher grade. Winning Bid: $2077

Ex-Navy Mustang. Excellent luster on this well struck coin. The obverse is untoned and the reverse has brownish magenta color throughout the reverse. Repunching of 77 in the date can be seen. There is a fascinating die clash on the reverse under the eagle's beak where the Liberty's shield can be seen. You can even see some letters of LIBERTY in it! The mark on the left obverse field keeps this coin as an MS63. Winning Bid: $1800

Rarest P-Mint from 1879-1890. In a PCGS Gen. 3.1 (1993-1998) OGH holder. With a mintage of just 5,000, this is the rarest P-mint during the 1879-1890 low mintage years. The characteristic weak BER in LIBERTY identifies this coin as a business strike compared to a proof. The coin has a nice coppery tint with excellent luster. The reverse grades at least MS65. We Love this Coin! In a PCGS Gen. 4.0 (1998-2002) holder. Excellent luster beneath very original and appealing toning. Vibrant blue toning towards the rims turns into magenta and then to orange as you move towards the center. Miss Liberty is decently struck with all the obverse stars showing weakness. The reverse is nicely struck. Winning Bid: $3100

Wonderful Originality and Color. In a PCGS Gen. 3.1 (1993-1998) OGH holder. Wonderful originality on this high quality lustrous specimen. The rims are toned concentrically in blue, transforming into magenta and then golden toning which gets lighter towards the center. The reverse also has a horizontal toning band of blue, magenta, and deeper golden hues. Marks are at a minimum with the reverse of MS67 quality. Winning Bid: $3600

Tough Coin in XF CAC or Higher. CAC has endorsed 3 at this grade and 9 higher. This was the first New Orleans quarter minted in 31 years and comes in the final year of Liberty Seated coinage. Mintage is a small 68,000 for this better date. Light grey iridescent surfaces on this well struck specimen. There are scattered handling lines and a few small marks on both sides. For this date, there remains good detail as these coins circulated. A nicely toned AU50 CAC recently sold for over $13,500 tripling the CPG retail price. Winning Bid: $8000

Beautiful Originality. Excellent luster remains under the fully original slightly crusty surfaces. The surfaces are very smooth with barely any marks. The sun and right obverse field are pristine. Only slight weakness on liberty's head and the eagles right facing leg but the rest of the coin is well struck including Liberty's hand. The light toning adds to the picture. Due to the excellent luster and pristine and obviously undipped frosty surfaces, this coin has an almost medalic appearance. Winning Bid: $3450
