Welcome to a GFRC Online Auctions Connoisseur's Series auction sales featuring Mike's Seated Quarters (Part 2) and a small group of additional lots. I've known Mike for some years as a passionate collector. Mike has spent significant time and resources working on his complete Liberty Seated Quarters set that is listed in the PCGS Registry as the fourth all-time highest graded set. That is saying a lot! This is the second part of his Seated Quarters set with rare and scarce dates abound that are not normally seen in these grades with this kind of eye appeal. We're honored that Mike chose GFRC to sell his impressive set.

GFRC Online Auctions will continue to offer three payment lay-a-ways for auction winnings over $3000 moving forward. To take advantage of this payment option, bidders must registered with Gerry prior to the auction open and confirm their lay-a-way requirement. Those that don't confirm prior to the auction will not be afforded this privilege. Please contact us at teamgfrc@gmail.com or Matt (917) 727-1893 or Darrell (929) 322-4953.

The GFRC Online Auctions application was designed with simplicity for bidders given the No Buyer's Fee policy. Bidders do not need to contemplate the Buyer's Fee percentage when placing bids. Every bidder is free to bid what they wish to pay for a lot. This fact become measurably important during the final hour of the auction sale whereby bidders can stay focused on determining their auction ending bidding strategy without factoring in a Buyer's Fee.

The GFRC Online Auctions platform has become yet another divestment option for collectors along with the regular price list consignments. We've seen the GFRC community become incrementally comfortable with taking holdings onto an auction platform for upside bidding potential and increased prices realized. Again, with a simplistic No Buyer's Fee structure, collectors can easily calculate their proceeds using the final bid and GFRC regular commission rates. All lots that do not meet reserves are posted on the 30 Day Price List after auction end along with the well known Collectors Corner numismatic marketplace. Our goal is to promptly sell you coins across multiple marketing channels.

Good luck with bidding.

Thank you, Matt and Darrell

Reverse Die Flaw, Second Pairing, Gem Original, This richly original example features blended steel-gray and champagne-pink patina on both sides. Strike is hammered with high relief stars regardless of the dies being significant eroded. Silky luster manages to radiate through a fairly thick patina. Surfaces are entirely unabraded and smooth and. The F-113 attribution points (reverse die flaw and die erosion below date) are easily seen. Well Struck, Prooflike with Excellent Luster. Low mintage of 14,400. This has nice eye appeal and is difficult to find any wear on this coin. It would be hard to tell this from an MS63 specimen. It is well struck with excellent luster and prooflike surfaces. The obverse has a thin crescent of bluish, magenta, and copper toning. The reverse has gorgeous more pronounced rim toning. Gem
Gem Original, Gorgeous Toning, Ex. Eliasberg. Most recently sold by Heritage in April 2025 as part of the Bruce Sherman collection where it realized $21,600, this exceptional coin was accurately described as: "Silver surfaces are blanketed with a varied array of deep-russet, toffee, and charcoal-gray, with the latter two dominating on the reverse. The obverse also contains hints of sage-green and electric-blue. Strike is first-rate, with only the slightest weakness inside Stars 7 and 8. There are no abrasions of note, as is expected at this lofty grade level. The Generation 3.1 green label holder notes the Eliasberg pedigree." The CAC population is 4 in 66 and only one higher in 67. W-01

Choice
Choice;Original, Attractive Grey Surfaces A totally original light grey Union struck example of the rare W-1 die pairing. The W-1 die pairing attribution is confirmed by a tine extending from the upper serif of the left 1, and a mintmark punched high and left along with a polished area when the left facing wing meets the body. W-1 is the first of two die marriages coined while the New Orleans Mint remained under Union control during January of that year. While the Confederate-struck pieces tend to be more popular with collectors, the two Union varieties are in fact the scarcest in the series, rated R-6 and R-5 respectively, as noted in the Bugert reference. The surfaces are well preserved with minimal marks. Excellent eye appeal despite some striking softness on Liberty's breast and the corresponding area on the reverse at the eagles talons.
